Intelligent Waterjet Cutting for a Wide Variety of Materials

Need to create complex shapes in materials, without any risk of heat distortion?

Whether you wish to prepare aerospace parts, construction materials or decorative architectural features, waterjet cutting is ideal. One of the most effective and precise methods available, it can achieve precise cuts without compromising the integrity or strength of a material.

It’s also a sustainable technique because it produces narrow kerf widths, resulting in minimal material wastage. This is particularly advantageous when working with expensive or valuable materials.

Our team at Aqua Dynamics Ltd loves working on all kinds of projects, creating intricate designs which are both beautiful and practical.

Whether you work in architecture and design, the film industry or with ceramics and marbles, we would love to collaborate with you. Why not see our gallery to see what we can achieve?

Our abrasive waterjet cutting is ideal for all kinds of materials, including but not limited to:

  • Ceramics which can be challenging to cut using traditional methods. With waterjet cutting you have a technique which doesn’t generate heat during the cutting process, so doesn’t cause thermal damage or cracking in the material. A waterjet stream can be controlled to make intricate cuts with high precision, allowing you to create all kinds of complex shapes and designs.
  • Aluminium.  Waterjet cutting can handle a wide range of aluminium alloys, including common ones like 6061 and 7075. It can cut aluminium sheets, plates, tubes, and other forms with ease.
  • Plastic including acrylic, polycarbonate, PVC, nylon, ABS, and more. This technique can cut plastics of varying thicknesses effectively, although it’s not suitable for brittle plastics.
  • Glass including the cutting of intricate stained glass and piercing holes in glass. The few materials which this method can’t cut are diamonds and tempered glass.
  • Acrylic. Abrasive waterjet cutting is ideal for the creation of clean and smooth cuts in this material.
  • Stainless steel of up to around 9 inches in thickness. Again, because it doesn’t use excessive heat, stainless steel won’t be distorted, warped or changed because of its corrosion-resistant properties.
  • Titanium, a strong and durable material that can be tough to cut using other methods. Because waterjet cutting is known for its intricate designs and tight tolerances, it’s ideal for titanium.
  • Composites like fibreglass, carbon fibre-reinforced polymers (CFRP), and aramid fibre-reinforced polymers (AFRP).

Located in Oxfordshire, we’ve worked with companies in many industries looking to deploy this method. Generally, our clients supply the materials although we can source them if needed. We’ve worked on many high profile projects in London and the surrounding locations.
